Weekly drop in classes
for beginners re-start on Tuesday 10th January 2023
Our weekly classes are the ideal place to start your tango journey.
Come on your own or with a partner. We have new people joining us every week.
We will show you how to walk on your own and with a partner. We demonstrate a different move each week.
Drop-in classes re-start on TUESDAY 10th January 2023
7:30 until 8: 30pm
Upper Hall at St Paul's Church, Hills Road, Cambridge, CB2 1JP.
The price for the class is £15 (£12 conc). No need to book.
If possible, wear shoes that you can pivot in, not shoes that will grip a wooden floor. You can read more about what shoes to wear for tango here.

What we teach
In the drop-in beginners classes we cover:
- Posture: How to stand and walk on your own, how to hold your weight
- The embrace: Connecting with a partner in an open embrace
- Moving together: Change of weight, walking and side steps
Depending on time and the level of the group, we will introduce the rock step and pivots or teach moves such as the ocho cortado.
In the absolute beginners class we encourage dancers to try both roles to experience the feeling of leading and following.
