3rd and 4th June - Absolute beginners weekend course

Saturday 3rd June, 11am-1pm and 2.30pm-4.30pm

Sunday 4th June, 2.30pm-4.30pm

In this weekend we assume no dance knowledge whatsoever. We will introduce you to tango from your first steps, showing you how to walk and how to connect with a partner. By the end of the weekend you will be able to lead or follow steps such as the ocho cortado, the forward and backward ocho and the cross step.

£60 per person (students £50). Email info@simplytango.co.uk to book.

Turns and smooth transitions in close embrace

You probably know a fair number of steps and a good bit about technique, but you'd like to:

  • feel more balanced and connected in close embrace
  • know how to adapt your embrace for different step combinations
  • be able to turn smoothly with your partner in close embrace.

Working within the level of the group, we will gradually introduce more exercises and techniques to challenge and improve your connection and musicality.

Milonga and vals workshop

This day is for you if you have been taking classes and dancing consistently for at least 6 months.

We will work on fluency and step combinations when dancing vals, looking at how to use pauses and different circular movements in the dance.

We will work on the technique and connection required to dance to milonga music, and learn new steps that can be incorporated into the dance.

The Intermediate day is aimed at people who have taken at least 6+ months of tango classes.

Saturday 21st October, 11am-5pm, with breaks for lunch and coffee.

£60 per person (students £50). Email info@simplytango.co.uk to book.

This course is at The Polonia Club, 231 Chesterton Road, Cambridge, CB4 1AS.

Sacadas, paradas, barridas

Saturday 9th December, 11am-5pm

This day is for you if you can lead or follow forward and backward ochos, the cross step and the giro in open embrace, and you'd like to lift your dancing to the next level.

We will work on technique, step combinations and musicality, improving your fluency and connection. We will introduce new combinations of paradas, sacadas and barridas to add dynamics and expression to your dance.

The Improvers day is aimed at people who have taken 3+ months of tango classes.
